Makeup Bag Monday #3 Stila, Covergirl, Kat Von D

As I stated last week, I'm in the process of moving this week, so I didn't want to commit to too much product testing. I am exhausted! Buying a house is a time consuming task. Thankfully, we've closed on our house (yipee!) and as of tonight, we'll be all moved in. As for makeup reviews:

Stila Perfect Me Perfect Hue Palette in Tan/Deep $39
Wowza! This is my first Stila palette, but it won't be my last. Every shade in this palette is highly pigmented, easy to blend and long-wearing. I am a huge fan of neutral tones and this palette did not disappoint. If you're in the market for new eyeshadows, check out Stila! This is my new favorite multi-purpose palette.

CoverGirl the De-Puffer Eye Concealer with Olay $13
I purchased the medium/deep shade which seems to be impossible to find online. I picked mine up from my local CVS but anyway, onto the review. This concealer is highly moisturizing, easy to spread, and offers a sheer to medium coverage. The metal applicator is cooling and will give you minimal 'de-puffing'. I really enjoy this concealer because my skin is normal to dry and I don't have major darkness to correct. If you have more 'mature' skin in need of some hydration and not much coverage, you'll probably enjoy this concealer.

Kat Von D Ink Liner in Trooper $20
Possibly the most hyped up eyeliner of all time! I can understand the hype, the felt tip applicator is easy to use, the liner is extremely pigmented, and depending on how oily your lids are, this eyeliner will last a long time. I have extremely oily lids so this liner fades as the day goes on (if I don't wear a primer). My eyes also have the slightest, smallest wrinkles and so I find that this liner can tend to tug a bit on those delicate areas. For someone with smooth lids, this will most likely be a hit, but for me, it isn't.

This Week’s Makeup Bag

I'm in the process of moving this week, so I didn't want to commit to too much product testing. I do have a couple of new items to test out that I'm really excited about!

Melisa Michelle Ulta Palette Swatches and Review | #MelisaMichelleXulta

In the past year, there have been multitudes of collaborations between beauty bloggers and big brands. Although I love the YouTube beauty community, I generally avoid purchasing collab palettes because they are generally:
Too expensiveDifficult to findOverpricedLower quality  Despite my general skepticism about YouTuber collabs, I was quite excited to see that Ulta Beauty gave LoveMelisaMichelle the opportunity to create a multi-purpose palette.

This palette contains 9 eyeshadows, one highlighter, a blush and a liquid to matte lipstick. The retail price is $20 and it can be purchased in-store on online at Ulta.com*. Since there is a slot for the liquid lipstick, the cardboard packaging is a little bit bulkier than ideal. Despite the slightly thicker than average size, the #MelisaMichelleXulta palette is perfect for travel. It contains everything you need (except bronzer) for a full face of makeup! On to the swatches.

Covering Hyperpigmentation and Acne Scarring with Makeup

If you are a woman of color, you may experience dark spots as a result of past pimples and regions of darkness on your skin. I decided to film how I use makeup to cover my hyperpigmentation and dark spots.

Hatomugi Skin Conditioner decanted into spray bottle - I use this to hydrate my cleansed skin, which tends to be quite dry. It also contains ingredients which can help heal hyperpigmentation and acne scarring.Stratia Liquid Gold My current favorite moisturizer, Liquid Gold is incredible. Hydrating but not overly greasy, this thin emulsion has quickly helped repair my moisture barrier.Vaseline- I use Vaseline to seal in the moisturizing goodness of Liquid Gold and Hatomugi Skin ConditionerL'Oreal Total Cover Foundation Cocoa 312 This new foundation is semi- controversial, people either love it or hate it. I think it's alright, albeit a bit too matte for my dry skin, when mixed with the concealer below however, the coverage is perfectly full and the finish nice and satin (in b…
